Abstract
The water soluble contrast media cause tissue necrosis infrequently by extravasation during intravenous power injectors for Computed Tomography. Extravasation of intravenously injected contrast medium is a well known complication of radiologic procedure. We retrospectively reviewed and reported on CT extravasation, protocol, IV(intravenous) location, contrast media volume, pressure, needle gage, also significance were evaluated. Records from a 25 month period were studied of 14 patients in whom extravasation of nonionic contrast medium occurred during computed tomographic(CT)
scanning. Extravasation injury site was CT scanning. We introduce extravasation with findings CT and Three-Dimensional appearance. To compare contrast media volume with 3D program studied of significant extravasation. Extravasated conrast media amounts to 56.29ml-61.21ml in patients. Radiological Technologists have to be competent in the treatment of acute side reactions and extravasation.
